Sunday, March 7th: “Peace on the Hilltop”
Join Bill and Nora Strothman as they present a short documentary on the remarkable story of Peace Lutheran Church in Tacoma, Washington. The church was brought to near extinction in the 1960’s as Tacoma’s Hilltop neighborhood became overrun with drugs and gang violence. This is the story of a dedicated pastor and a few families who refused to close the doors of their church, and instead became inspired to better serve their struggling community. In this video we will examine what it means to be “planted” in a neighborhood, and we will explore the implications for all churches in this changing world.
Adult Education Track 2: Meeting in The Fireside Room February 7th – March 7th: Disappointed with God. This course is based upon the book, Disappointed with God by Philip Yancy. Cokesbury Bookstore sells the book. Our presenter, Pastor Charles Davis, illustrates themes from this book using the colorful and animated PowerPoint process projected on a large screen.
